Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) is a company based out of the UK who has a fantastic reputation worldwide for their wine programs. Here at the Academy, we offer Levels 1 and 2  both in person and online. Level 3 will be launching in the upcoming months.

If you want to take your education a bit further and specialize in a specific country, we are proud to offer the Wine Scholar Guild program for both France and Spain. These are more immersive and in-depth programs going into the specifics of each one of the regions while you taste and learn about each one of them. These programs are the perfect way to specialize in a particular country and the perfect way to enhance your wine education.

WSET

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) provides education and qualifications in wines, spirits and sake, for professionals and enthusiasts.

The globally recognized certifications, WSET Level 1 and 2, develop “comprehensive product knowledge and tasting skills, covering the significant wines and wine-producing regions of the world.” We are proud to be an approved program provider for the Level 1 and 2 in Wines and Level 1 and 2 in Spirits.

Level 1 in Wines is learning and understanding the very basics of the wine world, where we taste and explore 6 main grape varieties and taste up to 21 wines from all over the world. This course is perfect for the general enthusiast who wants to dip their toe into the world of wine and have a more broad understanding of wine from farm to table.

Level 2 in Wines expands on Level 1 and goes into much more depth and detail. We taste 40 wines from around the world and explore 20 different varietals. This course is typically held two nights a week for two weeks and is great for those who want to embrace the learning experience as they become more familiar with specific world regions and their most well-known grape varieties.

We are also currently offer this course online and in an hybrid form.  It’s perfect for those who may want to get involved in the industry, or for those who just want to know which wines would be the best to pick off of a wine list.

If you prefer to venture into the Spirits world or expand your catalog,  WSET Level 1 in Spirits offers an introduction to spirits for those starting a career in the industry or pursuing an interest in spirits. In the Level 2 in Spirits you’ll learn about the fundamental production methods and principal raw materials discovering how they are used to make the key spirit styles. You’ll also explore the key practices and principles of serving spirits and the use of spirits in cocktails.
