Food & Wine Tastings French Wine Scholar Study Pack Book In-person instruction from Alex Lopez, FWS with honors certified course educator All essential course wines & tasting glasses Access to recorded Zoom sessions and to educator through the sessions Homework and practice tests Exam fees Certificate & lapel pin 1-year access to the French Wine Scholar Guild online study program for class preparation and review The French Wine Scholar™ education program is the most advanced, comprehensive, and up-to-date French wine course available. The syllabus takes a regional approach and discusses all French wine appellations and the factors that shape their identities. The program provides committed students of wine with an unparalleled set of study tools that are designed to maximize learning and boost knowledge retention. Closed-book exam of 100 multiple-choice questions to be completed within 60 minutes. You need a score of 75 or higher. Candidates scoring 85-90 pass with Honors. Candidates scoring 91-100 pass with Highest Honors. Format This is a hybrid course. We will meet over 20 hours of classroom instruction with tutored tasting taught by Alex Lopez, FWS with Honors. Ths is an intense but rewarding program. We recommend students to prepare before class and understand the time commitment. We will be here to guide you all the way but we need for you to also be committed to the program. Classes will be once a week (every Thursday) 6pm-9pm Course dates: August 15- October 10 via Zoom and in/or in person 6pm-9pm. If opting for Zoom, your camera needs to be enabled. The last session is offered only live and we will go over tasting, review, and exam. The last session will be October 19, 11am- 3pm. Light appetizers will be offered. We can accommodate to exam date and place with at least 2-week notification. Otherwise, there is a rescheduling fee assessed by Wine Scholar Guild. *Installment plans available.
